Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov on February 26 heads a large Bulgarian delegation, which includes three ministers - of justice, environment and energy - Atanas Slavov, Julian Popov and Rumen Radev, as well as two deputy ministers - of foreign affairs and defence - Tihomir Stoychev and Stanimir Georgiev.
Defence chief Emil Eftimov is also in Kiev.

The first stop for the delegation headed by Denkov was a visit to the destroyed residential areas. They visited the Solomyanskiy district, where they talked with local officials.
Nikolai Denkov also took part in a wreath-laying ceremony in memory of those who died in the war in Ukraine, which took place in Mikhailovsky Square, where the memorial wall is located.

Official meetings are to be held, but for security reasons it is not being announced exactly who Prime Minister Denkov will talk to.

His visit comes in the context of the second anniversary of the start of the war - the advancing Russian army in the west and the shortage of weapons for the Ukrainian army.

This is the second visit by a Bulgarian prime minister since the start of the war. Months after Russia invaded Ukraine, then Prime Minister Kirill Petkov also visited the country.
Bulgaria’s Parliament Speaker, Rossen Zhelyazkov, also visited Ukraine earlier this month.
