Farmers are ending the protests because they have reached an agreement with the government, Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov said after the meeting in the Council of Ministers on February 9.
A memorandum will be drawn up on Sunday and is expected to be signed on Monday. This will put an end to effective protests and roadblocks. Farmers have reaffirmed that they will not protest on Saturday and Sunday.
They have been offered to maintain the rates. All farms will receive aid, but for those bigger than 3,000 decares in size, it will be less and owners will have to prove their losses with a special statement that will be more onerous than a tax return.
Farmers said they were pleased with what had been achieved and again apologised for the inconvenience caused during the blockades.
