The stormy wind over the weekend knocked down trees, broke branches and took two victims - one in Varna and one in Sofia.
In the capital, the emergency service, together with "Green Systems", removed trees assessed as potentially dangerous and most likely to fall during storms and high winds.
"So far, 55 reports have been received and processed, mostly about fallen branches and trees or dangerously leaning trees which need to be removed quickly. There was one fatality in Sofia, an injured woman and a car on which a poplar tree fell on a bulevard in Sofia, "Krassimir Dimitrov, director of the Directorate of Emergency Aid and Prevention at Sofia Municipality, told BNT.

According to him, there are two more cases of fallen branches on cars. Krassimir Dimitrov also commented on the case of the man who died after a tree fell on his car on the Sofia boulevard "Iliyantsi".
"The tree was absolutely solid. A register of dangerous trees is being kept, monitoring and survey is being carried out," said Krasimir Dimitrov.
