Farmers in Sliven region demand urgent compensation for crop loss

Farmers in the region of Sliven (Southern Bulgaria), where fruit plantations weren damaged by frosts at the end of March, will be compensated 100% for the lost harvest.

Farmers are worried that they will be left without any compensation. They say the affected areas are over 16,000 decares, and they hope the ministry will pay the compensation on time.

Funds are currently being invested, we are calling for the compensation to be paid as soon as possible so that we have something to work with, producers urged. We will ask for specific deadlines, a producer said, adding that they will insist on receiving funds from the Ministry of Agriculture within 10 days.
