GERB-UDF, “We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria” and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) proposed that the election of a new Prosecutor General be temporarily stopped.
"The constitutional amendments should be adopted first, then a new Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) composition and then a new Prosecutor General should be elected," MP Delyan Peevski of MRF called for in the National Assembly on June 30.
"We are submitting a declaration to the National Assembly, together with MRF and “We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria”, with an appeal to the SJC to wait with the election of a new Prosecutor General," said Denitsa Sacheva of GERB.
